I’m going to preface this story by mentioning that I went to the movies with my housemate on Friday and saw BOTH The Avengers and The Cabin in the Woods. They were utterly amazing and ever since, I have been suffering from an extreme case of writer-envy. You know, when you admire someone else’s writing so much that all you want to do is write but can’t because you’ll know you’ll never be as good as a certain writer you admire? Yea, I was feeling that way about Joss Whedon.
So I was talking about my writer-envy with my housemate and she mentioned that she had a dream about Joss Whedon the night before. Apparently he was visiting the ranch for some reason and my supervisor and the ranch director were giving him a tour and he was talking about writing some new show having to do with the ranch or something. They took him to the cafeteria to eat lunch and was eating with my housemate and the other volunteers when I came out of the kitchen with my tray of food.
In this dream, I apparently didn’t already know Joss was on the ranch, so when I saw him, I dropped my tray, and screamed “JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSS!” I then proceeded to run at him, glomp onto him, and refuse to let go. My housemate claims that I remained attached to him for the remainder of the dream, despite others’ attempts to pry me off. They eventually gave up and continued to have normal conversations with Joss about the ranch while I clung to him, stroking the top of his head.
Yea… sounds about right.
